How andul2 got into roleplaying:
I played free-post forum RPGs for a few years, then stopped for a year or so. I've played D&D once and once only, last year. I made up my own turn-based RPG for a friend based on the Honor Harrington series by David Weber, and DMed a couple of campaigns in that. I now have my own forum RPG, although it only came up a week or so ago and have a grand total of one member (not counting me).

Some helpful hints for new players getting into RPGs:
