Offensive t-shirts can be seen on every street and in most public places whether inside or outside. Some of them will offend sensible people and some of them will offend people that are not so sensible. The problem remains that there is no definition for that term and some people like it that way.

A lot of these messages will have the wearer spouting off about things such as their political beliefs. Calling someone in the other party names or claiming something that may or may not actually be true. Some of those things are actually physically impossible, especially some of the more sexually explicit or graphic ones. And the trash talk, it is believed, about their mothers or fathers have no real place in polite society, regardless of how that wearer feels.

Many people, in many different situations do not want to see cuss words and body parts drawn on a T-shirt. Many others have no problem with them. This does say something about the person wearing this item of clothing, however, it also says something about the person being offended. The offense might not actually have anything to do with the concept that it actually offends.

These people are known, informally and unofficially, as the thought and speech police. Their need to have the control over everything that is worn or said is very large. There are, of course, people who do not know what they are wearing or what it means. Some of them just do not think about the effect of what they are wearing has on other people. Some of them, and we are talking about a very small percentage, honestly wonder why people would be offended as they seem to be.

The plain and simple truth is that 90 to 95 percent of people wearing these items of clothing do know what they say and what they mean and wear them anyway. Those are the ones who want to say just that and they would love to have a talk with anyone who is offended. They do not really want to hear what they know they will hear. That is that they should not wear those sayings. This right will, possibly, be maintained by force if allowed to get out of hand.

The offensive t-shirts that are seen are, by right, able to be worn. People, before they wear them should consider how they would react if they are the target of that saying or back ended compliment. A rule of thumb could be a variation of something that probably never finds its way onto a T-shirt. That is that if you will not wear it to visit your mom, you probably should not wear it at all.
