Unfortunately due to conflicting work scheduals, the playing sessions are on hold for the time being. However, it is a high level campaign, thus the time affords me the ability to fine tune details and I haven't been idle.

Thus far there is no grand purpose. The players were hired by a very hot, very mysterious noble women trail-blazing to the Vault of the Drow. The PCs are guards for this caravan. Along with her, she has a drow woman and a small collection of dark ones. The drow woman is a body guard and in actuality, an ogress magi polymorph into drow form. With the dark ones, there are six dark creepers with a few levels of rouge whom handle the pack lizards and watch the goods. Their leader, i just finished detailing and he is a bad ass dark stalker with levels in sorcerer and daggerspell mage.

The mysetrious woman is a bard and demon thrall of the queen of succubi, and it is her intentions to open a brothel in the Ghetto of Chattel, that features half-fiend staff... and of course to start a cult and gain followers.

The players have enough loot from vanquished foes to open up a little magic shop, not to mention with the success of destroying the vampire for the mushroom king, there is the potentual for an alchemy shop dealing in potions and poison. That's where Neckbone would have fit in, but they really, really want to kill him, so we'll see.

I've designed one more dungeon level, The Statue Gallery of Death, to be encountered before they are in the deep underdark and start coming in contact with drow patrols.

As for ideas for when they reach the city i have few ideas I'm kicking around. Firstly, I imagine there will be some turf wars over this new and upcoming brothel thus the players will be hired (i.e. charmed, suggested, and dominated) into killing such rivals and to damage the merchandise so to speak.

Another is considering the warlock. He is a half-fiend himself, the son of a succubus with an impressive charisma of 23. Thus i have an idea of the matron mother of a smaller drow noble house inviting them all to a shin-dig with the intentions of hooking up for some slap and tickle with the warlock. Of course a rival house will attacked during this time, and in mid-coitus the matron mother accuses the warlock of being a spy and tries to black widow his ass!

Lastly Angel will be my next RPGC NPC. I am going to make her a teenaged drow (hehe 75 years old) of a noble house... the youngest daughter of a house with nine children. Six sisters and two brothers... she has grown bored with putting foot to ass against her brothers and despises her lowly status among the females. The fact her sisters don't consider her a threat pisses her off to no end, thus she has decided to start pruning the family tree of weakness. Thus begins the workings of trechery and assassinations in her attempt to seize power... with a little help from the PCs.

What else... any ideas or expantions?

... not to mention Neckbone and an elite hobgoblin are still alive and free of the vampires domination. I'm going to have a session where they got to meet a contact in a tavern, and have ol' Neckbone come strolling in. I'm curious to see how many city blocks we can destroy before drow patrols come calling. Just before they arrive I'll have Neckbone polymorph into the likeness of a drow priestess and have him point an accussory finger at the party and say, "they attacked me".

I also gave them a map/journal from a treasure seeker who died near the mushroom kings territory. This will a seriously deadly dungeon/tomb. The final resting place of two extremely powerful magic items. The minor artifact I call the Skullcap of Amon-Thoth and an intelligent bastard sword named Reign In Blood...

Fuck I wanna play!

QUOTED  thus she has decided to start pruning the family tree of weakness

There have got to be some undead involved in this, lol. And baked goods. Poisoned chocolate cake served by her pet zombie.

Hope she fares better than Nanuk...

Sounds like fab campaign- you're not the only one who wishes they were playing.

I'm not sure if I asked this before- what kinds of levels are the PCs?

...a drow? A drow??? If it was anyone else there would be an ass-whoopin' on the way!

As it is... this sounds awesome. Don't forget her penchant for sneakiness, tricks and fondness for dabbling in necromancy.

Love how you're setting up Neckbone to become something of an arch-nemesis for your party - goblins never seem to get enough respect or are used for much besides cannon fodder.

Huh?

Are you under the impression it's a play by post campaign? If so you've made a minor error. It's a D&D campaign. This section is for discussions on table top gaming.

When one works retail at a 24 place of business, two things can really suck in regards to schedualing. Working graveyard shift, and working weekends. I do both. We are doing some shift shifting thus I begged, pleaded, threatened, and whined about gettiing at least on weekday off... looks like I might be getting Saturday and Sunday nights off...

If so, game on!

I hope so, really miss this shit.

Hehe... I know have Saturday and Sunday off... game on!

Up next we have The Statue Gallery of Death! I got kinda happy with this one so I think I'll bring along the leader of the Dark Ones, Whisper.

The player's will come to a fork in the path, and no matter which one they choose, it will lead to the Statue Gallery of Death! The tunnel will open up to a large crevice, split by a river. The path side will be up against a cliff, not too sketchy... 10ft. across. The opposite side is sheer cliff. Fifty foot drop to the river.

After a mile or so, they'll come to a stone bridge, no railing, that leads to an obvious tunnel opening. Let's hope they notice the other two higher up flanking the bridge, and the two 3rd level hulking hurler underdark giants sentried there. IF they have sense to send in Whisper to scout, he'll discover a waterfall up-river from the bridge. If they stealthy by pass the bridge and circumnavigate the waterfall, they find a secret backdoor. If not, the sentries rain rocks upon them as they pass the center of the bridge. Then the 8th level grimlock barbarians will charge!

This gambit will be lead by the grimlock chief and consort to the mistress of the Gallery. A war mage 7/barbarian 1/ rage mage 5. If the PC's prevail, he'll retreat into the gallery to warn his mistress, and their daughters...

His mistress is one badass Medusa sorcerer 4/arcane archer 10. Their children are 5th level medusa scouts. The Gallery is actually the ruins of an outpost created by some undiscovered, elusive human underdark race, with a foreign taste in architecture (Greeco-Roman). The streets will be filled with a mockery of a populace, captives and such charmed into holding a pose, then turned to stoned. Lots of continual fire spells placed to subvert darkvision, yet giving a nice shadowy environment in which to play.

Then the game of cat and mouse will ensue.

The scout offspring I gave feats in mobility and shot on the run... so they can step out from the cover of a statue and fire off two arrows (rapid shot feat) while moving to another statue for cover... of course gaining those nice skirmish bonuses for damage/AC provided by that scout class feature. Hopefully this will confuse the players to the positions of the scouts, plus it'll provide cover if they do spot them, making their ranged attacks near useless.

Mommy can do the same... plus she has the manyshot feat, plus every arrow she fires from her bow is considered to have a +5 enhancement, plus her bow is a +3 distance, seeking, speed, exit wounds composite longbow. Plus she has some spells to imbue into an arrow, or spells to further obscure/confuse.

One problem I see is with the evoker/force missle mage/argent savent. Her AC is ungodly, so she might be able to pepper my medusas with mass amounts of empowered magic missles, if she wins initiative and holds her action until they move, with impunity as the arrows will more than likely bounce of the layers of force she has around her... let alone if she memorizes a protection from missles spell, or clever use of any number of force spells she will have memorized.

Mommy has an answer for that... arcane archer class abilities of phase arrow and death arrow compounded on one arrow coupled a swift action casting of arrow mind ought to fix her good...

The Grimlock chief is interesting as for stepping out of the norm, I gave him a snake familiar harvested from his mistress' head and grafted it to his neck. So not only does he have normal snake familiar type shit, but he possesses an empathetic vision with the familiar graft, thus can he "see" beyond scent and hearing, thus won't be "blinded" by stinking cloud or damaging spells with the sonic descriptor. Plus he can go toe-to-toe with the blackguard or exchange eldritch/arcane globs of icky death with either the warlock or the evoker.

Now that I think on it, success of this juncture will rest greatly on the evoker/etc., at least initially... she can throw wall of force, forcecage, or resiliant sphere at the sentries, removing the danger of being brained off the bridge by huge boulders, then hit the grimlock barbarians with shout and stinking cloud, effectively blinding them, even if they resist the normal effects of the spells... saving both hit points and resources for the Gallery...

I almost forgot, some of the humanoid statues will be missing their heads, and in place of those heads vicious little vargouilles will post... Well sort of, they're too low of a challenge as is, so I advanced their hit dice and the DC's of their special attacks, and threw in some innate spell-like abilities and made a vargouille magi. Plus coincidently, I randomly rolled a staff of transmutation while determining the late Nanuk's treasure hoard... perhapse I should make it a variant which includes stone to flesh? If things go bad, a few allies could be restored to flesh... unless that dwarven warrior was an illusion, and in actuality is a petrified fiendish umber hulk.

This should be good wholesome fun.
