Although information warfare has become popular only recently, its uses come back from as far as antiquity and always played a large role in any successful campaign. Honestly, I believe the upcoming articles of the series will miss something should we ignore such a topic.

Besides, in our stories and campaigns, we deal a lot with information, coming from many different sources. Tales of spies and informants abound from small criminal gangs to the most powerful nations at war. In the previous article of this series, we also mentioned the importance of information for the coordination of armed forces, ranging from a few men to whole armies. Warriors able to use information efficiently perform better and it sometimes saves their lives from threats of the outside.

There are two basic topics regarding information warfare itself: gathering accurate information and preventing the enemy from doing the same. More advanced topics such as disinformation will be discussed in later articles.
