QUOTED  Recently some people took pictures down below of the doors, no dust in the air, everything was calm. And one guy got a really good orb on his digital camera. I'm thoroughly convinced that the place is haunted now.

Orbs on digital camera's are pretty common and are nothing more than artifacts from taking the picture itself. It's be better if you used a film camera or a potariod camera.

What's the history of the place? That can help always in understanding a haunted place. Mines are common for hauntings for the fact of the danger involved. It sounds interesting. I'd like it if you can tell me more of this place.

Seeing Orbs can be a trick of the eye especially in an enclosed natural enviroment. Noise can also be tricky. If you're a tour guide hon, take a potariod along with you and a tape recorder and snap some shots and record some of your tours once in a while. If you can get access to the place afterhours, go with Mr. VP and walk around snapping pics and recording your walkthrough. Talk to each other and once in a while (I know it'll sound crazy) but ask out in the open air if there's anyone there. You don't have to "turn" off the lights and all that to do this stuff. The whole "in the dark" thing doesn't not affect hauntings one bit. That stuff is just created by the ignorant and by hollywood that GHOSTs only show up in the dark.

Well, the town was originally built in 1893. It stood for four years before it was abandoned. Then, in 1921 the town sort of came back to life (right around the time they managed to start mining in the Mammoth Mine again). Some time in the 1950's, the town burned to the ground in a brush fire (it had been abandoned long before this event), and only two small structures survived, a part of a water tower, and a section of a brick wall from one of the building. About 21 years ago it was rebuilt, the entire town. During the rebuilding process, they came across the remains of a prospector. They reburied him, on site, and gave him a marker. It's a huge stone slab, about maybe 8 or 9 feet high.

I know. I think I forgot to mention that the doors like to open with all the lights on. In fact, that's when they open the most. Especially if attention is drawn elsewhere. And it happens on the other side of the doors too. It's not just the doors. I've been getting a feeling about the place long before I ever started working there. I just don't know how to explain it.

well...once when i was living at my aunt's in a trailor park..lol...i was watching tv well my aunt looked out the window of the living room and rushed me over to her to see a white see though thing in the shape of a a lady floating out in a field just across the street. as we watched it for a few moment's not really knowing what it was at the time we heard my cousin from in his room and it caught our attention when we looked back it was gone............ anothertime i was living in the addict of my step mom's house the house was built in the 19 20's range and was in pretty bad shape.anyways the only way to get there is to walk up some stair's were you see a lil room with another large room that took up about the size of the house.at the end there is a little opening about 4 feet wide and 4 feet tall with old wooden wall's and crack's all over the cieling. one night i was sleeping when i heard a noice at the end of my bed i looked and it was a small wooden basket type thing i made in wood shop back in school but only i put it in the lil room for storage and now it laided at the end of my bed.plus i heard a bang noise when it landed. well i never sleept in that room again and everyonce in a whille you heard foot step's comeing from the addict when no one was up there. sometimes the light's would go out and we would go to the breaker box to find that one of the fuse's had been pulled and twisted out of place....fffffreaky!!

Damn! When I saw this topic was started in '05, I thought it was the flamewar me and Damien had. Ah well.

Lately there's been crazier stuff happening at my place. As you probably know, I work as a psychic consultant - a medium to be exact. And I have to clean out my room daily (etherally - physically this place is a pigsty right now, lul) because of all the negative energy, angry spirits and crap floating about. Long story.
But lately, I've had plates of food physically knocked out of my hands. It's one of those moments that reminds you, every so often, even the most powerful pros occasionally go 'holy shit, this stuff is real!' The best one recently would be when I was drinking a Coke Zero - I was about to take a sip, and from pretty much nothing, the thing exploded. It knocked upward fast, and in the one movement spilled two thirds of it over the room. In retrospect, it probably wasn't that my house is haunted, but someone going 'You paid two bucks for this? Idiot!'
It's happened with Chinotto too. So maybe it wasn't - half the spirits around me are Italians from my family.

Oh and if the inevitable 'you did that yourself, you're developing epilepsy, there's a scientific explanation, blahblahblah' card is played, there is a scientific explanation, yes. But it's not one that disproves this stuff. There's evidence of parallel universes, auras (essence, or chi, is actually electromagnetic - whaddaya know?) and the ability to see the future. The latter's more a theory connected to time travel, and time being circular rather than linear. But you pick up on stuff that can be prevented occasionally - if fate were 100% pre-set, we wouldn't have free will.

So I have loads of interesting stories about this stuff. I'll remember to post it sometime.

Um, are you saying that even in the face of sufficient scientific evidence to explain an phenomenon you would deny it?

A comment on your post Blue_raven5 I have had what you could classify a Auditory Hallucination. I'm on medications such as Respiredol which is classified as a Anti-Psychotic for Schizophrenia. I have also found that my friend Mark had also experienced this hallucination, he on the other hand takes no medication for a mental or behavior issue let alone he doesn't take any medication at all. So I thought it was my medication but five seconds when mark screamed first I new it wasn't them. As we pondered on it more we came to the conclusion that it truly belonged to One of the two following categories.
1) Me and my friend mark run on the same Brain Wavelength causing a spike in mentally produced electricity when the Hallucination shot the mental activity sky high the brain wave lengths met causing mark to receive it as well.
2)It was a spirit of some sorts, maybe a Banshee, or shouting spirit. The house I live in had 2 people die in it in my current life time, one was my past G/F and the 2nd being my Grandpa. It could be either one of them mostly my grandpa because he hated me, if it was my lover she would of only stood in fear maybe not who knows what happens to your mental process of thinking as your soul is bonded to earth

Oh hell. I have some creepy tales to tell, quite a few involving my wife and her "gift/curse". I'll start with the one that turned me from full blown skeptic into a semi-believer.

I was working in a casino in Reno that is reputed to be haunted. During the orientation tour i scoffed at the tales of waitresses in victorian style dresses (which havent been used since the 70's), and the alleged GHOST of a suicide in room 215 of the old Riverboat casino (this one has physical manifestations according to some employees).

One day, me and two coworkers were working in the records room across the alley from the Riverboat when my friend Tim decided that it would be a great idea to go see room 215. So we went up to the third floor of the Nevadan, across the alley via a type of skyway which REEKED of dead pigeons, and down to the first floor of the Riverboat. From there, we had to take the stairs up to the second floor (the elevators weren't operational). When we stepped into the hallway, the first thing that came to mind was the hallway in the Shining. The colors were different, blood red and royal blue, but the same creepiness hung in the air.

Jerry wouldn't go past the first door, room 201. I made it to about room 205 before my steps faltered and Tim made it to about room 209 before he turned around all bug-eyed and said "Run!" . Three grown men ran like little bitches for the stairs.

Now, I don't scare easily. I'm 6'1" and at the time weighed around 300 lbs but as we were running down the stairs, I heard FOUR sets of footsteps going down the stairs and they weren't echoes. I was tailend charlie with a pissed off spirit in hot pursuit. We didn't stop running until we were back in the alley outside in broad daylight.

The memory still gives me goosebumps to this day.

I have other stories but I'm going to put them in separate posts so they don't run TOO long.

On to a different experience. My wife has a gift/curse depending on the experience. Sometimes she's a postcognitive, touch-know, medium, precognitive(very rarely), sometimes she has visions that warn her away from certain places, but she's one of those who is able to see GHOSTs and she sees the frequently. I've tested her abilities a few times but that is another tale.

one night my wife, my cousin, and I were sitting in our living room here in Weed and she was telling us about the GHOSTs in the house. I was only a semi-believer at this point and was taking what she said with a grain of salt just like always. We had been struggling with the kids for a few hours over bedtime and had finally gotten them to sleep or so we thought.

At the last bedcheck all three were sleeping soundly in their rooms. About 10 minutes later, we heard A child's footsteps run from the upper level of the house, down the 3 steps to the entryway, through the kitchen, laundry room, and on into the bathroom. From the living room we could see upstairs and the entryway, there's an opening that allows us to see into the kitchen, and the laundry room is directly off of the living room. We didn't see any of the kids.

I was kind of pissed at this point, thinking one of the little savages was acting up again so I said " I better hear pissing, or someone's getting an ass whoopin!" and waited for a response. None came. I checked our daughter's room, directly off of the living room also, and saw her sound asleep in her bed. Then I checked the oldest boy in the upper level. Also sound asleep. I even checked the youngest boy in his crib in my room. Out cold.

I even checked the bathroom. It was ice cold in there and there wasn't anyone in there. I went back to the living room, sat down, and calmly said "they're all asleep in their beds." My wife just looked at me and said "I know".

Creeped me the fuck out!

Another time my wife and I were sitting in our living room and at about 1am, i looked at the clock and heard a VERY loud THUMP on the other side of the wall. I thought the oldest had fallen out of her bunk but when i looked in on her and her brother, both were sound asleep in their beds with no sign of disturbance. I even checked the youngest up in our room also asleep in his crib. I thought maybe something hit the outside wall of the house, but I know damn well the sound emanated from inside of our daughter's closet and it hit hard enough to shake the clock.
