He's not seven feet tall but he'll do. I find Samwell alright as they've aged the children by roughly two years for the series, and I don't think he looks manly at all. Hodor is way too fucking old, but the dude is a huge bastard.
Everyone else is damn near perfectly cast, with Tyrion and Arya being the best.

Yeah, I found the Mountain unimpressive, but the Hound is great. Not quite the right voice or tone to his character - he's just not harsh enough - but he's got the -look-.
Me and some friends were trying to figure out why this is, and the best guess I can come up with is some of the sexually explicit material in the series would be dodgy with kids. Jon Snow's about 14 when he starts banging the wildling chick, which I can't imagine would do well with censors. 16 isn't necessarily a lot better but just enough, I'd guess.
With Viserys and Littlefinger coming close. So spot on. And Lisa Arryn's horrifying little shitheel. "Make the bad man fly!"
I also have finally decided I really like the way they did the Others. Not like in the book, but I think to keep the air of menace from the writing they had to take some liberties.

Bingo kiddo. I've noticed the same thing about movies throughout the years. If the actors are portraying kids, you aren't going to see tits or scroggin any time soon. So, bump the age a couple of years and push the envelope a little before you slap the population in the face with it.
I'm more of a mountain than this man.

No Red Wedding...that had me pissed.
Other than that, season 2 reminded me of why I enjoyed season 1 so much. Good adaptations, hit the major points while still being able to go indepth, and Tyrion is still an awesome character to root for.
