Saw "Shaolin Soccer" again, as well as "Rogue Assassin" and "Zen"
SS was just as good the second time around. I want more Stephen Chow movies!
Rogue Assassin had Jet Li, but was an otherwise forgetable action movie. I wasn't bored while watching it, but I feel no need to see it again.
Zen was a mix of Ong Bak and any mid-career Jackie Chan film. It was so Ong Bak that the protagonist watched Ong Bak (and Warrior King) on screen. The MA and stunts were a bit lacking compared to JC and OB, but it was good enough movie. I might actually watch it again.

Just watched Shutter Island and...

***SPOILERS***

... I'll never understand why a filmmaker thinks it's a good idea to draw an audience into characters and events for an hour and a half or more just to reveal in the end that it was all bullshit. I was really digging the movie right up until the reveal, thinking I'd wind up adding it to my collection. Then it goes off the deep end with the "Identity"-esque reveal that it's all just a delusion. In any sort of movie, but a thriller especially, which relies so heavily on the tension it builds, that sort of thing really gets under my skin. I watched a movie for better than two hours that only contained about twenty minutes of actual content.

I did, however, like the very last bit with Leo seemingly going back to his delusion, but with the line about living as a monster or dying a good man. Led me to believe he didn't actually go back to being delusional, but just didn't want to deal with the truth.

All in all, I can't be a fan of this movie, though. Too cheap.

"Terminator: salvation"

spoilers

Pretty bland. Was anyone surprised to find that Marcus was a terminator? And was anyone surprised to find out his heart was going to be used later in the film? Definitely the weakest of the terminator movies, even though it was nice to see some non-humanoid models doing stuff.

"Black Adder"

saw the fourth season again and am nearly done with the second. It's amazing how entertaining an arsehole can be.

Sweeney Todd, the only way it should be watched - with themed drinks, all the lights out, and a room full of people singing along.

QUOTED  "Terminator: salvation"

Even with all the stuff you mentioned, I still found it to be much better than T3.

Just watched Book of Eli. I liked it, though the story was a bit different than I thought it would be.

Next up: Dexter, Season 4. Even with already being spoiled by the huge (and very upsetting) ending twist in this season, still looking forward to it immensely.

I liked T3. Just sit back and enjoy the action. Sure, the plot was sucky and John Connor was a wuss, but as long as you accept it as a funny version of Terminator it was great. And that car chase was amazing.

"Warlords"
Jet Li, Andy Lau and Takeshi Kaneshiro in a movie about the Taiping rebellion in the 1860s, Northern China. My gf was complaining that she's been spoiled by "the Battle of Red Cliff" so anything less spectacular is boring. But it was decent, seeing the mix of firearms and spears/swords, the politics and the amusing beards on the main characters (Jet Li was hardly recognizable at first)

Yesterday I watch Star Wars: The Phantom Menace, Ponyo, and Clash of the Titans, the new version. Unifying factor in all of them: Liam Neeson. And yes, Clash was exactly what I was expecting, in a good way.
