It has a good tone and pacing. There are some obvious goofs (feeling temperature changes, the way the ground and a rock feels through EVA suits, not getting the right movements for a mission to Luna), but I did like it. You don't get the horrible shakey-cam shots to the levels of other films in this genre (considering the cameras are almost all fixed placements on the Lunar Lander and CSM). Plus, just the short glimpses of the monsters, helps with the creepy factor.Usually, I don't like this genre (can't stand Blair Witch or Chernobyl Diaries), but I did like this one. It was as good as I remember, not having seen it since it was in the theaters. And Guy Pearce should totally have been picked to play John Constantine, when Hollywood insisted on making him American.
