"The Eye" original Cantonese version. Slightly creepy, but not really frightening to the extent of many Japanese horror movies.

Mystery Science Theater 3000 - XX Edition

This box set includes 4 movies:

- Project Moon Base

-Master Ninja 1

-Master Ninja 2

-The Magic Voyage of Sinbad

These episodes are actually some of the very earlier ones with Joel Hodgeson (not mike the Janitor) Watching them today, the jokes sort of really date the series. I had forgotten that the show had started as late as 1989. It's still enjoyable to watch. I've only gotten through "moonbase". Sadly, the DVD only had an original trailor and a commentary on filming the show from the camera director. The disc didnt' even have a chapters menu. In this day and age I don't know how you can get away with that.

Depends on the quality - lots of the crappy kung fu movies I buy now start right on the movie - no menu of any kind, and only the crappy dubs, no subs.

Last watched, "Ponyo" - Miyazaki's retelling of the Little Mermaid. not quite as wonderful as Totoro, but a wonderful story nonetheless. Highly recommended to everyone who doesn't try to be too cool and sophisticated to enjoy a well-crafted children's story.

I loved Ponyo! But, of course, I like Miyazaki.

Tron.
I know my nerd rep will be irreperably ruined after admitting this, but this is the first time I've seen the entire thing. I've caught bits of it before. I liked it a lot.

QUOTED  "The Lost Boys". somewhat amusing, but nothing I will feel any need to see again.

Shun the unbeliever. Where's Nan when I need her to back me up on the wonders of homoerotic 80s vampires?

For shame, sir. I still have fond memories of getting in trouble when I gave my cousin a black eye pretending our frisbees were light discs.

Catching up on unseen seasons of South Park, waiting for "The Doctor's Wife", the latest DW episode, written by everyone's favorite comic book author, Neil Gaiman. Those few reviews I've seen so far have been very pleased, some saying it's the best nuWho episode so far.

and yes, I want my mistress back too.

"The Doctor's Wife" was ok. Nothing spectacular.

Other than more "Yes, Prime Minister", we watched "Dead Space: downfall". All about what happened to set up the game. Passable, I suppose. Nothing exceptional.
