I liked it a lot. I love movies that don't take themselves too seriously. Great performance by Downey, Ben Still wasn't annoying, and Tom Cruise was great and wholly unrecognizable. Member Since: July 2003 RK: 12 MP: 5,933 | Saturday February 21, 2009 12:05 PM Agreed. Though I honestly think I liked it slightly better than the book - but I haven't read it in years so I can't be sure on that count. Back on topic: Event Horizon. A friend talked me into watching this movie. Coincidentally, I wasn't able to sleep until dawn. I'd like to blame said friend entirely, but it was at least partially my fault for foolishly not taking them seriously on the creep factor and thinking I'd be fine watching it alone, late at night, in a darkened house. Not making that mistake again. Great movie, though - haven't seen one that genuinely creepy in a long time, and sci-fi horror is so underdone. A little bit like Call of Cthulhu in the whole "something so horrible you'll gouge your own eyes out" but with more brutal mutilation and less tentacles. With some brief hints of Alien and Silent Hill here and there, and cameos by some Reavers. As I said, good movie... but one I won't be watching again any time soon.
