I was meeting up with friends at a restaurant and, being in a rush since I had to close the store tonight, slid into my seat so fast I almost tipped it straight to the floor. The waitress asked how many I'd had before going there, then took my order and walked away, shaking her head. Wouldn't have been so bad, except that my one friends was making fun of me about it for several minutes afterwards. At the finale of his improv routine, he threw his arms out to mimic me trying to catch my balance. Our waitress had the misfortune of walking up with our drinks and some food on a tray as he did this. Long story short, my friend and the waitress wound up wearing a mixture of fries, cheese sauce, and beer. All I could do was laugh and say "karma's a mutherfocker, ain't it Rob?" He's the only person I know that this could happen to. I was laughing so hard I was crying, which is not so great while driving, and his utter bemusement only made it worse. I gave him a much needed haircut, so hopefully that'll help stave off the guy's advances. "Just imagine the headlines 'Howard Moon, Colon, Explorer'. Got a ring to that don't it?" "Colon Explorer?" I mean really now? Am I truly that scary of a teacher that everyone has to avoid my lesson? I'm certain that the determination of circular area is not so difficult a concept as to scare them off, so it had to be the fact that I was the one teaching class today.If I went around claiming I was an emperor just because some moistened bint had lobbed a scimitar at me they'd put me away! It's kind of a bullshit class where we're basically role-playing the imperial court of Ming China, and as First Grand Secretary to the Emperor, I get a lot of criticism. Two tidbits that cracked me up coming from a player who picked the character name of Pikachu..."I don't hate you, I just hate your character." AND "What's an execution or two between friends?" Anyone you can describe as chipper is to be avoided. You never know when they'll crack. Eventually, they're gonna start gnawing on the nearest thing they can, whether it's a hood ornament or wristwatch, wrist still attached; a moment when that uniform they've made for themselves breaks down and they fall to pieces, right out of it. Member Since: July 2003 RK: 13 MP: 6,289 | Wednesday January 20, 2010 7:29 PM I'm not sure if it belongs here or in despair - but my friends made the mistake of teaching me how to duel with Yu-Gi-Oh cards last night, and since class was canceled today thanks to crazy-ass midwestern weather, I spent the whole day dueling. I'm certifiably addicted now - especially to the zombie deck.Because, you know, I didn't have enough addictive, expensive, painfully nerdy hobbies to start with.
