Then a week later they can ten more permanent employees, kind of figured that was going to happen too. This week, I find out that three French techs are being transferred to other plants and they laid off an American tech that has been there twelve years. It's a pretty sad state of affairs when a good chunk of your remaining employees WANT to be laid off. Myself included. Hopefully they don't dick around until my 401k gets bled by the shitty economy. So she starts doing it yesterday, not noticing that there is at least 20 gigs of stuff to download and install. And instead of letting it go all day yesterday while I'm at work she waits until I come home. Then she unplugs the net connection when she goes to bed, wasting 8 hours of download time until I get up. At this rate we won't get the bloody thing installed before the three day trial is over. So I launch it, and it claims that my video drivers are outdated. Never mind that I ran through the checklist they gave me to see if my PC was up-to-date enough to run the game and everything was in order. So another 30 minutes of finding the new drivers, downloading, installing, etc. Then I relaunch, and the launcher crashes with the message 'client initialization failure'. Send a mail to Bioware and get the repyl (obviously a standard reply, automatically sent out) saying that we will possibly get a response in 48-72 hours. By which time of course our three day trial period will be long over. And worst of all I feel petty and spoiled for getting so annoyed with this when I think about real problems other people have.
