Damn weather. April was the warmest on record, or close enough, but the only reason I know we are in May and not November is that the trees and plants are fully leafed and green, and it's a couple degrees warmer than M\November usually is. Cold, wet and terribly windy.

That's funny. We had one of the coldest and wettest Aprils on record.
Are you getting any of the ash from that volcano in Iceland, SL?

Not that we notice here. at least not those of us unlearned in the art of meterology. Makes the planes a bit iffy, but we don't see ash comming down with the rain that I've seen.

OK, the west coast saw some ash in the rain, enough to slightly dirty everything lying around, kind of like a heavy pollen episode, only gray insteasd of yellow.

The eruption looked pretty intense. I figured since you weren't -too- far to the east you'd see some of it. Least you didn't notice anything where you live. Even a film would be annoying if your analogy of pollen is true - that's one of the most annoying times of Spring is when everything is covered in yellow. Thankfully, well...depending on how you look at it, we've had a rainy/wet/miserable Spring, so never really noticed the pollen out there.
On the same note, Despair is another rainy/wet/miserable day.

We're having tornadoes around Chico Ca. Something is out of whack with the weather. Turn the bloody fan off!

Despair is: The cleaning lady at work finding crabs on the toilet seat in the men's room. As if I weren't neurotic enough about using the crapper. I held it all freakin day today.
