QUOTED  attached to your diff.

Note to self: find out what that is.

Lol.

I got something called Damp Start today- my cousin described something similar happening to her car after she went through a deep puddle, and it was very wet the few days before this happened, so hopefully that's all it was.

Am supposed to drive to Dublin tomorrow and the day after, and I feel a little worried, lol.

I'm going to take a shot in the dark and guess Bubbles is referring to the differential.... I don't remember anything else on my rigs starting with DIFF.

The Crank angle sensor tells your spark plugs when to fire, which is why if your CAS is gone your car won't start.

Your diff or differential is attached to your engine it allows your two wheels to spin at different speeds, for doing things like cornering.

My uncle had the same thing happen to him too, the car just needed a good dry out. If this happens again you can sometimes get the CAS to start by rocking the car.

When in doubt, use force. If that doesn't work, get a bigger friggin hammer.

If it's your CAS, you are going to have to find out where it is for your car. I've seen them on the differential, the intake valve camshaft, the timing pulley....

They put them all over the damned place....and some cars don't even have one.

What would help immensely would be to know what car you have....

It could be water in your gas...the cas...a cracked distributor...an alternator going bad....a damaged solenoid.... a cracked computer housing...

Happiness is getting to fire the brand new M&P .45 by S&W. It's very nice!

lol- 97 VW polo.

It's been fine since, and I'm just hoping it was something minor until I have the chance to drop it in to my mechanic. He's so frickin busy all the time!

Turns out it was the distributor cap.

WhenI first dropped the car in to the mechanic he thought it might be the plug points or fuse somethings, but turned out the person who had the car before me changed the distributor cap but didn't put holes in the sides to let the steam out... begs the question why are the not made with holes in them, seems kind of silly.

I forgot to ask him why it only started acting up now, when I've had the car for a year with little problem. It gets chuggy every so often in the mornings (I guess by the afternoon when the sun's been out for a while the condensation burns off... but if there are no holes in the cap where did it go?!) but that's about it.

Ah well.

Happiness is only having to pay 40 euro for a cap/labour instead of the much larger sum I was imagining
