One time, a baby bird fell out of its nest in my backyard. It hopped around the yard, complaining all along. I went out there, set up a little makeshift nest for it, and left it to its own devices. The parents knew where it was and fed it regularly.
Then my old cat killed it when I was taking out the trash. She was a docile animal, so I didn't give it much thought. She was at my feet, I turned my back on the bird, who was across the yard, for no more than a few seconds. When I turned back, the cat was running toward me happily with it in her mouth.
That did not make me happy...

Well, my girlfriend and her sister found a sparrow with a broken wing when they were younger. They splinted it and kept it in a box in their room while it healed. Then one day when they were going away for a few hours, her sister forgot to close the door to their room. When they came back the entire room was covered in tiny sparrow feathers and there was a very happy cat on the bed.
I feel happy...I feel happy!

I can't get made at my cat for killing birds and mice (and he terrorises our nearest neighbour, who is a spa, and collects/breeds animals- kit has returned with a rabbit, a white squirrel, a small minx, a pink canary thing AND was stalking an iguana across a wall before we grabbed him, all belonging to this guy)- besides the fct that it's his nature he almost always leaves some part of it at the front door as a gift for us (sometimes just little kidneys).
In our previous house he carried an un-nibbled mouse up two flights of stairs and a ladder to leave a mouse for me in front of my chair.
Happiness today is a tiny glimpse of sun! Hoorah!

Not being sick and hacking my lungs up constantly.
Plus, before i got sick, when i was camping... my baby niece Z.Z. made me not one, but two Schmores!!! They were delicious.

The new fuzzy kitten bouncing around the house. Black with green eyes, short-hair, and about 10 weeks. She's adorable.
Those shoes are still hideous.

Simple pleasures ... This topic reminds me of Amelie. Has anyone seen that movie? It makes me happy.
I don't mind the shoes. They scream of counter-culture, so you might find them an acquired taste.
Happiness is being agreed with. When your main audience is irate old conservatives in a corrupt town, and your message is relaxation and happiness, it's a rare pleasure.
Also, wasting hours at a time with someone, feeling like you couldn't spend your time better.

The shoes are beautiful, and I want a kitten.
Happiness is lying in bed after noon and reading some Cable & Deadpool. Yummy. Now If I had a cup of tea it'd be perfect.

Nanuk your shoes look very comfy to me. I am not a shoes person...I try to avoid them at all cost but those are definitely the kind of shoes I would wear to work.
