happiness for me today was my 3-year old Reni coming up to me, putting one arm across my shoulders and resting her head on one shoulder saying in her half-baby talk

"Ha-Pee Mommy's Home"

Which translates to "I"m happy Mommy's home"

Happiness today is that it's the 2 yr anniversary of my mum being suddenly taken in to hospital with terrible stomach cramps that were suspected appendicitis but turned out to be a ruptured bowel. Because it took so long to figure it out she nearly died, and was in intensive care for about two, three weeks afterwards, ended up in hospital for about 6 weeks.

Excellent surgeons and amazing IC nurses, thank God for them all- so super happy today. Not about what happened this day two years ago, obviously, but the fact that she's here for us to celebrate it.

Am even breaking out a bottle of bubble later

Happiness is a rainstorm in July. And not one of those wicked thunderstorm induced downpours either. It was like a fine fall rain *sighs*. It was nice. Hopefully it helped the firefighters with the wildfires in the area.

Dude. You never sleep better in your entire life than during a good thunderstorm. I feel like there were so many more when I was a little kid then there are now. The weather has definitely changed in the last 10 years.

It was downpouring on and off here... the water coming down the gutters was a wide as my car... hopefully, thaose monsoons made it was to Humbug and Happycamp. It is helping though, some firefighter crews from Humbolt and San Bernadino got sent home as a result of the rain.

Right on! I remember getting caught in monsoon-like rainstorm once. The Pineapple Express rolled right over the top of us. I had to slow down to 15 mph and I didn't sow down for anything back then.

Back then? I don't slow down for anything NOW.

Then again, I am a New Yorker, which, shy of Rome, we have to be the most reckless drivers on planet earth.

I went to Rome, and as soon as I got out of the airport, I saw a man on a moped get backed up over by a truck. It was gruesome in one of those "I can't stop looking" kind of ways.

Ah, Rome.
How I miss it.

Happiness is... New Shoes!!!!

Zoom to see their lovely detail!

And they weren't on sale.

A bargain at 63 euro. Thank the lord for sneakily appropriated student discounts.

No they're not.

They don't look as much on feet, and the red isn't as noticable.

So they're not.
