QUOTED  Note to self and others: boiled-over tomato soup bakes onto modern wood-stoves very quickly. Meal was great despite this

Everything bakes onto those things fast. One thing I don't miss about living on a farm in bumfucksville, nowhere.

Today will be corned beef and cabbage at the boyfriend's insistence. I'm not a big fan of either so I'm planning to just fill up on discounted Guinness and call it a meal.

Vegetarian lasagne (cheese, though, so not entirely veggie). Spinach, lentils, mushrooms, kidney beans and a little carrot. Very good.

I've never managed to set the stove on fire either. How the hell do you do that? Are American stoves less fire-proof than German ones?
Closest thing we managed was to start making gløgg (local version of mulled wine), start watching the old Hammer horror flick "She" and let all the water boil away until there was a thick, hot, dry layer of brown burnt to the pot.

Spilled oil + some sort of spilled ingredient scorching enough to set it afire = SHIIIIIIT

Tonight I enjoyed some absolutely fantastic yellow curry, though I didn't cook it. I'm planning to try, though: any handy tips or recipes?

This time I did make the curry, and it turned out bloody fantastic if I may say so myself. Had leftovers and some Kirin for breakfast. Man, I feel like such an alcoholic, beer for breakfast...

... well at least it's not just me?

Swiss Chalet (and it's leftovers) all day Monday - Wednesday, since my Mom came to visit. We both felt to lazy to cook.
