McQuarrie designed the original Star Wars movies. Imperial uniforms, Darth Vader, ships, lightsabers. the starships; everything. The movies were backed by 20th Century Fox in large part due to his amazing concept art. Apart from this he also worked on Back to the Future, Star Trek, Battlestar Galactica (the original), ET, Raiders of the Lost Arc, Close Encounters, and others.
