Alternately, it depends on how determined you are to be miserable with your lovelife - not referring to anyone in particular, but there are some people who simply live to bitch about their relationships or lack thereof. Coincidentally, their friends tend to wish they would save us all a headache and get neutered.

This makes me feel rather guilty for having a wonderful girlfriend. On some very few occasions I think "relationships are a pain", then I think of all the stuff I'd miss out on without her and realize the pain is negligable compared to what I get out of it.
Just keep on looking.

Don't feel guilty. Call me a hopeless romantic but things just aren't as enjoyable unless you are sharing them with a loved one. I don't miss her though, I miss the stability. I miss the fact that I knew what was coming the next day. Guess I got to comfortable with that. After six years my only regret is not knowing what love truly feels like.

Here you go, fellas, I'll give you some free advice - if you're going to spend a whole class period hitting on a girl, make sure you have her name right. Shannon? Really?

So, do I have to be re-initiated after going from sort of dating to wanting to murder anything with a Y chromosome that looks at me (all in the space of one week)?

Probly not. It appears to be the normal M.O. for anyone with dual X chromosomes, so why buck tradition?

I feel I should be concerned at the implication that I'm acting like a normal girl. That can't be a good sign.

Just found out via Facebook that I was, in fact, ditched for another man.
I feel that this elevates me to senior member status in this little club.

Wait a minute..... a dude ditched you for another man? Honey, either you were a very bad girl and cut off his nuts, or you were too good and completely burned him out. Indulge yourself with a little self delusion and tell yourself it was the latter, kiddo.

This raises some interesting questions...
Seriously, that's a sucky way to find out. It's worse than dumping someone over the phone, or be leaving a message on their email.
Anyone who hasn't the balls to do that face to face isn't worth keeping.
