You know, Limpy, if you didn't want me to take part in the thread by stealing my points, you could have just said so... Bastard.
But, yeah. Every girl I've ever been involved with has started out as a friend. Most were only friends briefly before we started to look at things more seriously, but how long you've been friends really probably doesn't come into play. Maybe that's blind optimism on my part, though. Hell, maybe it makes things better. (Please see the aforementioned optimism)
Anyway, focusing on being lonely doesn't do anyone any good. Really only just makes you look -more- unattractive than you already are.
And -that- was a righteous burn. I bid you adieu.
2011 was way more apocalypsey than 2012.

Changing girl for fella, ditto.
There's no way I could get involved with someone I didn't know. They could turn out to be complete psychonauts.

I agree but every time I have asked out one of my friends that I like they say they just want to be friends.

It's easy for girls to get boyfriends. Once they find the guy they like, all they got to do is put out. Pressure is way more on the guy. He has to carry on a facade until she puts out.

What, and end up in the friend zone?
That's a great way to have her tell you how much she loves you... like a brother. Meanwhile, she's out banging the fuck-twad.

Psssh. You guys want a real damper on your dating life? Try living in fucking Nebraska.
Pansies.
I'm with Limpy, Nan, and Oobie on this one. I'd much rather date a guy that's been my friend for a while than someone I just met and barely know.
Don't take the above to mean -all- your female friends will want to date you. Odds are the ones that say no wouldn't have gone out with you anyway - and now you at least have them as a friend.
Lichy, you know I've got nothing against you.... but I really want to kick you in the giblets about now.
There -are- women like this out there. And, frankly, they suck. They tend to be clingy bitches with nothing resembling self-esteem and find it humanly impossible to go three months without latching onto some neolithic fucktard who they actually are stupid enough to believe loves them when he really just wants in their pants.
So, I suppose if you -want- a girlfriend like that... be mister he-man and stay out of the friendzone.
I never thought I'd be saying this... but, well done Limpy.
Everywhere I go I repeat: I do not belong here.
